the emo setlist - 008 - Transit

February 23rd, 2024

Introduction - Transit 🌕

I find magic through moments, whether it be notes and harmonies from a song emotionally performed live, the vastness of space, yet the fullness of the galaxies, or seeing people experience joy. These moments are inspiring, energizing, and contagious.

I challenge you this week to chase one of those moments. Find what makes you feel alive and experience it. You matter. Your well-being matters. Don’t lose sight of your passion or what brings you joy.

Special Moments

  1. The Home Team had their latest release “Loud” played at the Seattle Kraken hockey game. LINK

  2. Sean Mackin (Yellowcard) had a feature within Golfweek and is a very cool read! LINK

Reminder 🐘

  1. Something Corporate is announcing an upcoming tour. Keep on the lookout for tickets and announcements. LINK

  2. Scary Kids Scaring Kids is looking forward to a big 2024 with new music and videos, festivals and tour dates, and vinyl pressings. Give them a follow to not miss the upcoming announcements and releases. LINK

Gear 🎸

  1. 1981 Inventions (Matt Hoopes of Relient K) released a new Nintendo (NES) themed colourway pedal variant of the DRV that is very close competition to my Black Hyperfade variant. It is a beauty alongside the NES. Even if you don’t have a guitar, this would be a good gateway purchase towards a guitar. LINK

  2. The Plot In You in collaboration with SJC Drums released a cool tour video (🎥 Connor Lenihan) increasing the excitement to see this show (only a couple more weeks!). LINK

Creators 🎨

  1. The Elder Emo Cvlt regularly produce posts such as “Top 3 weekly releases you need to hear”. I always look forward to the recommendations and really enjoy their content overall. Definitely recommend giving them a follow. LINK

Shows/Tours 🎟️

  1. Slow Joy announced “Joy in the Rockies” tour dates. LINK

  2. Coheed and Cambria announced a tour with Primus. I have never had the opportunity to see them and am excited for the Indy stop, which I picked up pit tickets for (unless I decide to drive to Chicago or Detroit to see them with Incubus). LINK

  3. Wildermiss announced some new upcoming tour dates. LINK

Comedy 🍿

  1. Max St. John did a “What are you listening to” video and I have watched it so many times and resonates so much. LINK

Read 📚

  1. Anti-Matter zine published an interview with Vic DiCara with an in-depth discussion of Krishnacore. The content produced week after week within the zine is so high quality and well-done I will continue to emphasize that you subscribe and support it. LINK

  2. Dan Ozzi posted these photos of Thursday which were a few of my favorites from their “War All The Time” tour. I am currently in the middle of Dan’s book, “Sellout” which features Geoff Rickly on the front cover. I have been really enjoying the stories and the book overall and definitely recommend it! It’s one that I wish I would have picked up sooner. LINK

Watch 🎥

  1. Pianos Become The Teeth shared concert footage in celebration of 6 years of their “Wait for Love” album. I’ve been hooked on them since their 2014 album, “Keep You” and has been a consistent no-skip album. I saw them when they opened for mewithoutyou in 2017 and seeing both bands together made for an amazing night. LINK

  2. Twenty One Pilots released a new lore video hinting at a new upcoming era. This video was well done and is 🔥. LINK

New Releases 🎵

  1. Incubus released a reimagined version of “Echo” from their Morning View album. LINK

  2. sace6 continues to release bangers with “Buried again”. I started playing this one the moment it was released. LINK

Capture of the week 📸

  1. Kay Dargen posted one of the coolest posts that I’ve seen in a long time. Kay is Hot Mulligan’s touring photographer and while on tour in New Zealand posted these photos of The Shire. They are amazing 🔥 and if you don’t already follow Kay, make sure to follow her account and checkout Kay’s portfolio. LINK

If you've made it this far, thank you so much for supporting this endeavor!

Feel free to message me about things you liked, opportunities for improvement, and what I should do differently. See you again next week in the emo setlist!

Stay emo 🖤

Ryan
